The Harvey Beef processing abattoir is in the regional town of Harvey, approximately 140kms south of Perth, Western Australia. The picturesque town is halfway between the busy cities of Mandurah and Bunbury.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cleaning and Sanitation Supervisor looking to continue developing in the field with a progressive industry leader. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the cleaning, upkeep, and sanitation for the site, whilst adhering to our safety and environmental management system and will be reporting to the Cleaning and Sanitation Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Always support and operate by the company values ensuring our high standard of safety and quality are maintained.
• Efficient supervision of cleaning, upkeep, and sanitation for the site across a 7 day week, 24 hour operation.
• Management of costs and maintaining budget alignments.
• Maintain and improve plant environment whilst consistently adhering to company and legislative health and safety policies, practices, licenses, and procedures.
• Maintain the health and safety of team members by ensuring that all processes are risk assessed with appropriate training programs managed and enforced.
• Responsible for the management of all external and internal hygiene, pest control, and contract cleaning.
• Coordination of waste streams (plastics, paper).
• Management of people (Team Leaders, and Team members).
• Driving the performance in the department (KPI’s).

Selection Criteria

• At least 2 years of progressive experience in cleaning and sanitation with supervisory or Team Leader responsibilities
• Demonstrated practical experience and strong understanding of cleaning and sanitation coordination
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to facilitate change while involving employees to continually improve processes
