We are currently seeking an experienced Strategy and Partnerships Lead – Seniors, Carers, Disability and Inclusion to lead a strategic approach to enhancing the effectiveness of local Ageing, Inclusion and Carer sectors and drive positive changes in community attitudes and inclusive practices.
This position will capture resident lived experience and sector insights to inform service delivery and policy gaps, opportunities and priorities in local and sector settings.
The Strategy and Partnerships Lead – Seniors, Carers, Disability and Inclusion, will work collaboratively to understand andrespond to diverse and changing community needs and social and political landscapes.
They will support community capacity buildingthrough education and connection to key information, resources and advocacy opportunities and will oversee relevant Council strategies,policies and plans including the Carer Support Plan 2022-2025 and the Disability Action Plan 2022-26.
This position reports to the Coordinator - Ageing, Inclusion and Carers.
To be considered you will have:
- The ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
- Relevant tertiary qualification within the community services, social sciences or community development disciplines and demonstrated experience in community development and planning or extensive professional experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated understanding of key policy directions and service strategies across levels of government that relate to seniors, disability and inclusion and carers.
- Proven ability to build positive collaborative relationships and consult, negotiate and communicate with all levels of management and staff, government agencies, non-government organisations, stakeholders and the community.
- Demonstrated staff supervision, performance management and change management experience.
- Demonstrated ability in social policy development, analysis, implementation and review through high level research, analytical and engagement skills.
- Demonstrated experience dealing with challenging and sensitive community issues and feedback.
