ABOUT THE ROLE
Origin is leading the transition to net zero through clean energy and customer solutions. Gas forms an essential part of the energy mix during the transition and Origin, via the Integrated Gas Business Unit, is continuing to invest in gas exploration and production throughout Australia.

In this key role, the Surface Facilities Engineer will create surface facility concepts, designs, and strategies for Development well packages, infrastructure, and brownfield optimisation projects by ensuring that key business objectives/KPIs underpinning the value proposition are actively monitored and measured.

More about the role

• Generate value by identifying surface opportunities and progress them through the front end deliver project process to feasibility gate. Track and guide projects once they have moved through the AFF gate Report back on their progress and escalate key changes that may impact the cost and schedule
• Accountable for the selection of surface facilities and gathering network design for new development packages
• Responsible for developing, trialling, and creating innovative, cost effective and fit for purpose solutions to optimise business performance through both the development of designs for new infrastructure and/or modification of existing assets
• Responsible for driving and accelerating the adoption of production enhancing and cost reduction initiatives and effective collaboration with execution teams ultimately accountable for initiative implementation
• Role model Origin health, safety and environment behaviour and attitude
• Comply with any relevant legislation, codes of practice, policies and standards that may apply

ABOUT YOU
Seeking a professional with extensive operations and project delivery experience? Our ideal candidate excels in stakeholder management, ensuring optimal outcomes for the APLNG project. You are adept at consultation, communication, and influencing key stakeholders, promoting new surface facility developments and modifications. Demonstrate strong initiative, work ethic, and integrity in developing fit-for-purpose designs and cost reduction initiatives.

You will prioritise HSE and process safety, aligning projects with safety standards. Possess effective problem-solving and analytical skills, offering clear recommendations on development options. With experience in setting up project timelines and milestones, they ensure seamless integration into the broader project plan and transparent progress communication. Additionally, they mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and continuous learning environment.

More about you

• Extensive experience in working on oil & gas surface engineering projects including gas compression, water treatment and surface gathering networks
• RPEQ Qualified
• Proven Project Management skills, with experience in the delivery of projects using a gated approval process
• Previous project leadership experience
• Experience in Commercial or JV Considerations
• Experience in gathering system hydraulic modelling
