Position Information
Ingleburn High School is a co-educational comprehensive high school in Southwestern Sydney which services the needs and aspirations of a diverse and growing multi-cultural urban population. The school enrolment is currently at 712, including 71 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 45% of the school population being from a Non-English speaking background. The school has a support unit of five classes (one for students with moderate intellectual disabilities and four for students with autism).The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices with staff professional learning being the key to ensuring this. This learning will ensure that both literacy and numeracy levels can be enhanced through improved data analysis and use to support student learning.
At Ingleburn High School students are always encouraged to take responsibility for their own academic and social and emotional learning, extending their own abilities and interests so that they can reach their potential and make valuable contributions toward Australian society. The school continues to build a vibrant learning community focusing on student achievement and attainment, community connections, opportunity and quality teaching practices.
Selection Criteria
- Approval and experience to teach Science 7-10 and Biology
- Demonstrated ability to integrate explicit teaching and learning strategies from the Stage 4 & 5 Science curriculum to support the learning needs of all students.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as a team member to achieve faulty goals and school strategic directions, fostering strong working relationships with staff, students and parents.
- Evidence of effective classroom management to promote a supportive and positive learning environment.
