ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight working week roster, at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for setting the direction for the Alumina refining process to safely achieve budget physicals targets through prioritised project execution and operational support.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Define the process parameters to optimise production, efficiency and product quality
• Set the technical direction to improve current plant performance and stability
• Production physicals budgeting & forecasting
• Performs sign off for monthly process and physicals inventory
• Develops, implements and improves Operating Strategies and guidelines
• Identifies and implements projects / trials for achieving Block Flow Diagram and Key Value Drivers; as well as maximising capacity / efficiencies.
• Monitors process performance, including governance to Operating Strategies and Standards

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• A strong technical understanding of the Alumina refining process.
• Proven capability to operate in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams.
• Minimum of 5+ years relevant industry experience
• Ability to effectively communicate the technical direction to improve current plant performance and stability with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to leverage and encourage cross functional working relationships to achieve organisational objectives.
• Ability to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everybody can bring their whole self to work.
• Exceptional safety leadership with an ability to identify and improve process safety in the workplace

Qualifications for this position are:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry or equivalent.
