Tipping Point Research Assistant

Melbourne

FULL TIME

October 15, 2024

We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join our dynamic new research project. This role will involve supporting a prospective monitoring study of individuals with bipolar disorder, which will be conducted in Australia. The Australian study is a component of the multi-national Wellcome-funded project, Tipping Point, managed by Swinburne's Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences.

Under the close supervision of the Project Manager, the Research Assistant will be responsible for overseeing and conducting the collection of both objective and self-report data from participants throughout an 18-month protocol. The data collection will include self-report measurements entered into an online survey and objective measurements using a wrist-worn activity sensor (actigraph) and a lapel-worn light sensor.

The Research Assistant will support participants with all aspects of data collection and work to ensure both the quantity and quality of the data collected. Additionally, conducting these interviews is crucial for maintaining participant engagement with the study. Graduate-level expertise is required to manage relationships with vulnerable participants and to ensure rigorous data collection throughout the project.
