Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide overall Operations inventory control development. Each day, you will support to improve customer on-time delivery and showcase your expertise by reducing net working capital and inventory costs. Besides this, the Inventory Manager will oversee the global inventory management processes, primarily focusing on finished goods inventory but also on raw material and Half-finished goods/WIP. This role aims to ensure optimal inventory levels, accuracy, and availability of finished products to meet customer demand efficiently. Finally, you will also be critical in achieving On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery targets, minimizing costs while maximizing efficiency. The work model for the role is hybrid and the preferred candidate is located in a German speaking country. You will be mainly accountable for: • Develop and implement strategies for managing finished goods inventory, including setting target levels for raw materials and WIP, monitoring stock to avoid overstock and stockouts, maintaining accurate records, mitigating devaluation risks from slow movers, and coordinating physical and cycle counts for inventory verification. • Analyze historical sales data and market trends to forecast demand, collaborate with sales and production teams to develop aligned inventory plans, and adjust finished goods inventory levels based on demand fluctuations and seasonal trends. • Oversee the order fulfillment process to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery, track and analyze OTIF performance metrics, and implement strategies to achieve and maintain high OTIF rates. • Collaborate with the procurement team for timely and cost-effective material acquisition, maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply chains, and evaluate supplier performance while negotiating contracts and prices. • Oversee the logistics of finished goods movement, coordinate with the logistics team for timely and efficient delivery, and manage the distribution network to ensure the smooth flow of products from the warehouse to customers. • Implement inventory optimization techniques to reduce holding costs and improve turnover rates, use inventory management software to monitor and control levels, and identify and ad-dress inefficiencies in inventory processes. • Generate regular reports on inventory metrics, analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and present findings and recommendations to senior management. • Supervise and lead the inventory control team, providing training and development, assigning tasks and responsibilities, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software, S&OP, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Fluent in English and German is mandatory
