Your Mission:
Join our team as an outstanding Risk Manager overseeing our operational processes and systems which underpin Bitpanda's products, services and interactions with the markets in which we operate.. You will be responsible for challenging, controlling, reporting and advising on risks relating to Bitpanda's technology operations and transactional processes a. You will play a key role in ensuring Bitpanda's technology services, software (and infrastructure), and transactional processing activities are robust, compliant and continue to evolve in step with the company's ambitious growth plans.
You will report to the Head of Operational Risk Management and will be a key member of Bitpanda's growing Group Risk Management Team.
What you'll do:

• Lead oversight of central operations and associated technology risks, including transaction processes, asset and exchange monitoring risks.
• Collaborate with Bitpanda's CISO teams regarding software development, governance, architecture, and roadmap/planning, in alignment with Bitpanda's Risk Management Framework.
• Act as the point of contact for Bitpanda's technology and operations teams, helping them identify, treat, monitor, and report technology and transaction processing risks.
• Perform control monitoring and oversight (including testing where needed) at planned intervals to assess effective control implementation, and advise risk owners on assessment and treatment of identified risks.
• Coordinate risk and control assessments, oversee relevant events or incidents, participate in audit engagements as needed, and support senior management in aligning IT and Operations Risk governance with organisational goals.

Who you are:
5+ years experience in financial services or financial technology, managing risk and control activities, and possessing strong knowledge of non-financial risk management, related processes, and frameworks.

• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements affecting financial services and fintech (eg. DORA)

Subject-matter-expert in operational processes, transaction processes and interlinks with supporting market infrastructure. Knowledge of traditional back/middle office processes is a bonus.Working knowledge of Technology risks, and controls, particularly with regards to software development risks, familiarity with engineering standards and information technology, including payment, trading and custody processes and third-party outsourcing.Ability to understand end-to-end risks and integrate a control framework throughout the organisation, bringing risk-management topics to life and embedding high-output, low-friction practices.A self-starter capable of operating in an ever-changing environment, consistently demonstrating leadership and ownership.Nice to have: Relevant certifications such as CRISC®, CGEIT®, COBIT, ITIL, or other related certifications.
