Recreation Assistant (Physical Fitness) NF-02

Duties
  • Assists the Facility Manger in overall operations of a fitness facility.
  • Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
  • Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory. Provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Assists in the planning markets and conducts an ongoing program to provide conditioning programs for facility users. Instructs in the proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness, and flexibility.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A probation period of one year may be required.
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Personal Trainer certification within six (6) months of employment.
Qualifications
Demonstrated work experience that enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

NF Allowances and Differentials
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) will not be paid in accordance with the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR).
