We are looking for a capable Resource Manager to join the Strategic Resource Management function for GSK global Research & Development (R&D). The team is a close-knit group focused on providing effective predictive resourcing services, and solutions, across GSK’s pharmaceutical technical development, vaccine technical development and the Research functions.
As a Resource Manager you will be aligned to specific teams, functions, projects and initiatives (across the global R&D) to build an accurate view of future resource demand (for people). The purpose of the Resource Manager is to provide excellence in resource forecasting across the R&D organization to facilitate confident decision-making, support robust drug/vaccine development and portfolio governance processes. You will support GSK’s multifaceted R&D strategy by helping to optimize its resources, to ensure project delivery (as well as to improve productivity).
Key Responsibilities (include)..,

Drive functional resource discussions to assist leaders to better understand how resources are currently deployed (including anticipating resource bottlenecks), to ensure projects are adequately resourced, and to enable discussions on trade-offs/sourcing strategies if required.

Ensure the function has access to a single source of complete and comprehensive resource management data (eg; demand, capacity, actual hours, and size/shape of the portfolio).

Build and maintain solid relationships with key partners (to increase transparency and confidence in resource planning with regard to R&D strategic priorities).

Support ongoing development of resource management processes, systems, reports, and analytics by defining specific functional requirements.

Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the projects and functional partners and sponsor improvement initiatives.

Develop and maintain algorithms ensuring high-quality forecasts in GSK's data consumption domain.
Location: Please note that this position would ideally be based at our UK R&D hub at Stevenage (Hertfordshire, UK), but we can also consider high-caliber applicants who can be based at the Ware R&D site (Hertfordshire, UK), at GSK Head-Quarters (in London) or at the Wavre site (Belgium).
About You:
The successful applicant should have knowledge / experience of resource forecasting and business operations, ideally gained from working in a complex highly-regulated industry (eg; pharmaceutical R&D or a complex manufacturing organisation). Scientific knowledge (eg; small molecule/large molecule/vaccine CMC development process) would be helpful, but the key skills we are looking for are strong analytical and data skills (including proficiency with Excel and Power BI) and an aptitude for their usage in business planning purposes. Experience of using Planisware would also be highly advantageous. You will also think creatively to answer complex resourcing questions, and have strong interpersonal skill suited to working in a complex interdisciplinary matrix environment. You will be resilient, with a proven ability to deliver and solve problems. A strong strategic and continuous improvement mindset is a pre-requisite for the role.

Basic Qualifications:

Relevant knowledge / expertise of resource forecasting (experience with Planisware is highly desired).

A relevant degree (eg; supply chain, business, finance).

Knowledge / experience of using Excel.

Demonstrable skill at managing complex resourcing requirements (including navigating cross-functional/matrix-environments).
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge / experience of Planisware (or similar planning and forecasting tools) and Power BI.
