Your role
As our Team Lead Site Acquisition in Belgium, you will drive the growth of Fastned and contribute to our mission: 'Giving freedom to the Electric Driver". In this role you will help drive the growth of our locations in Flanders and Wallonia, as we strive to build a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations on prime locations and strengthen Fastned’s position as a leading charging provider in Belgium.In concrete terms, this means you…
- Design and execute the strategy to strengthen Fastned’s position as a leading charging provider in Flanders and develop our position in Wallonia. Together with a highly skilled team, you will secure new locations (from scouting to signed land leases or freeholds) and develop new partnerships (with both commercial land owners and local authorities)
- Implement a strong growth plan for the regions, while also being hands-on in creating concrete opportunities. New locations are the main goal for you and the team. You will oversee and lead key real estate transactions and negotiations, embodying Fastned’s vision and mission.
- Help the team structure and streamline processes as much as possible to maximise effectiveness & efficiency.
- In this role you must be highly proficient in dealing with financial and techno-economic topics (together with our subject experts), you will own the business case and will know your part when managing your team in negotiations. Your onboarding will include a variety of “masterclasses” around the topics of e-mobility and fast-charging.
- You have a keen eye for market developments and you know when to take advantage of the right opportunities. This includes monitoring policy development and understanding its impact on our development plans.
The role will be based in Ghent, where you will provide leadership for the local Belgian expansion team. You will become part of the Network Development leadership team, a fun and diverse group of professionals spread across Europe. You will report directly to the Network Development Director. You will collaborate closely with the Belgian Country Manager and key internal stakeholders from Public Affairs, Architects, Construction and Communications.

Who are we looking for
In order to be successful in this role you have to be convincing, a real networker with outstanding people skills. You bring along extensive experience with negotiations (for example in real estate), as you will need to be at ease when negotiating with both governmental bodies and private landowners. You find the right balance between strategic thinking, commercial judgement and the drive to make a difference.
You are keen to communicate Fastned's vision and values to site owners & real estate companies and support your team in its expansion. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:
- Experience in building and leading teams, demonstrating your ability to drive and inspire a team.
- 8+ years of relevant commercial work experience, preferably in expansion, real estate and an international environment.
- Fluent in English, French and Dutch.
- You are a strong communicator, with a problem-solving mindset. Your commercial understanding helps you to filter a lot of information, assess its relevance and prioritise accordingly.
- An existing network of key government and private stakeholders in energy, infrastructure, transport or e-mobility and an appetite to deepen it further.
- You’re an outgoing person who enjoys seeing new places and meeting new people.
- Strong analytical skills and a results-driven mentality.
- Affinity with real estate and contracts (from a commercial, planning and legal perspective).
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- You enjoy learning new things and like to take on challenges.
- Highly motivated to accelerate the energy transition.
- Previous experience in high-growth companies, renewable energy, or adjacent fields.
- Experience in managing complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
- Open for regular travel within Belgium and Europe.
