JOB SUMMARY
The Buyer Lead will oversee the procurement team, ensuring efficient and effective purchasing processes while maintaining high standards of vendor management, cost control, and contract compliance. This role involves leading a team of buyers, developing and implementing procurement strategies, and collaborating with various departments to meet organizational goals.

JOB SUMMARY

This role involves leading a team of buyers, developing and implementing procurement strategies, and collaborating with various departments to meet organizational goals.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of buyers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Delegate tasks and manage workload distribution to optimize team productivity and efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment, encouraging professional growth and development.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and market conditions.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation.
- Analyse market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to inform procurement strategies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- When required, negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and contracts to secure favourable agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Oversee and streamline procurement processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Implement best practices for sourcing and purchasing.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of procurement needs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, spend analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyse procurement data to identify trends, track performance, and drive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance, market fluctuations, and procurement processes.

Essential
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and leading procurement teams.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Task management and prioritization
- Advanced business and negotiation skills
- Intermediate understanding of business law and contracts
- Clear understanding of corporate operational and financial controls and the internal/external enforcement mechanisms.
- Basic understanding of Supply Chain process and supporting tools
- General understanding of logistics and shipping management, commercial concerns, operational imperatives and decision-making with regard to global materials sourcing decisions
- Open communication with Procure-2-Pay team and key stakeholders
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as a team player.
- Proficient in verbal and written English language skills.
- Innovative, structured and organized mindset.
- Task management and prioritization.
- Show willingness to improve process efficiencies
