We’re looking for a Director of Retail Partnerships to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships, the Director of Retail Partnerships will own our product partnership strategy for all of Lightspeed’s retail products. This role will lead a team focused on developing, managing, and supporting product integration partners across multiple point of sale and e Commerce platforms.
Between closing new partnerships, supporting existing partners, and driving strategic alignment across teams, this role will require a dynamic leader capable of juggling multiple projects and priorities at once.
Reporting lines:
As the Director of Retail Partnerships, you will report directly to the VP of Partnerships. You’ll be responsible for managing a small team of partnership managers who directly manage product partners who are integrated across our point of sale and e Commerce platforms. You’ll also manage a partner services team focused on onboarding and supporting partners.
What you will be responsible for:
- Build and manage a team that oversees all product integration partnerships across our point of sale and e Commerce platforms
- Identify product partnership opportunities to develop and guide our partner strategy in the retail space across products and geographies
- In partnership with the wider Strategy Team, develop and execute against our ‘build/buy/partner’ framework to accelerate our product roadmaps and build product moats for our retail business
- Collaborate across teams to build a compelling app-marketplace and develop self-service partner tools to help accelerate the growth of our app ecosystem partners
- Work with potential and existing partners to define desired outcomes, investment, and nurture relationships that lead to long-term opportunities
- Develop and negotiate strategic partnership agreements that meet the company's strategic needs while ensuring mutual benefit to both parties
- Manage results with partner companies through regular governance processes
- Act as a key source of knowledge and subject matter expertise on market /competitive dynamics
- 10 years working in partnerships in in the point of sale, payments, or e Commerce space
- Proven results working across legal, product, and commercial teams
- Experience in a global Saa S environment, preference for fast-growth and global
- Track record of being able to both set or shape strategy, as well as delivering executional plans that have measurable impact on the business.
- Experience engaging at an executive level both internally with cross-functional groups and externally with partners
- Proven record of leading a diverse, high performing team across geographical regions and experience building high-performing, inclusive teams
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accountability, while also able to collaborate cross-functionally with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to thrive in a fluid, fast-paced, unpredictable environment
- Unquestionable ethics, integrity and business judgment; you share our values, and work in accordance with those values
- Highly motivated and adaptable with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a challenging, fast paced and team-oriented environment
