Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor assumes the role of a technical leader and has overall responsibility for ensuring timely and quality repair of equipment and plant machinery to minimize downtime for safe and efficient operation. The role takes initiatives to ensure operations are in compliance with safety standards and environmental practices.

- Provides general and detailed maintenance support (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required.
- Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance.
- Dedicates schedules weekly for assistance on general plant work related to the work request system.
- Performs routine daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces.
- Be responsible for locking out, taking apart and putting together, cleaning, lubricating, and sanitizing of production machines as required in accordance with master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedures
- Use cleaning equipment (scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrub machine, compressed air, power washers) to clean production floors, ceilings, walls of the bakery (warehouse, freezer, refrigerators, packing and production).
- Specific functions include, but are not limited to mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, washing equipment, trash and recycling removal.
- Perform yard work (clean up/snow removal/sanding on walk ways leading to entrances in the cold months) and mowing of grass using company provided equipment (in warm months).
- Provide sanitation support through the cleaning of major spills, ingredient(s), and/or equipment after repairs are completed from a
- Operate lift equipment (e.g. scissor lifts) to clean hard to reach areas
- Completes all documentation for work performed, in a timely manner.
- Adhere to company Good Manufacturing Practices policies, and Health & Safety Regulations.
- Performs all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of the BRC food safety standards
- Perform other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a maintenance / sanitation environment (combined experience on use of chemicals, assembly/disassembly of manufacturing equipment), light mechanical repairs
- Use of lift equipment (scissor lift, Genie boom)
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Disassemble and assemble processing equipment where required for proper sanitation using hand and power tools.
- Solid experience in general construction skills, including electrical, plumbing, framing, and masonry.
- Post-secondary education in facility management, skilled trades, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using both hand and power tools.
- Technically adept and have a good background in working with tools, and technical acumen to understand technical instructions on manufacturing equipment
- must be comfortable using a ladder, working at heights, handling chemicals and adhering to SSOPs
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the role
- Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic skills on use of computers
- Good communication skills
