Duties
Provides generalist, multi-function human resources support services within the Parks Canada Agency.
AND
Provides administrative and executive support services and related information for the efficient and effective management of the office of a Division Manager, Director, Field Unit Superintendent, or Vice President.

This position is based in Inuvik; Canada’s largest community north of the Arctic Circle. EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a one-year post-secondary program specializing in a field related to the functions of the position (e.g. Human Resources or Administrative field) or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in providing administrative support services in a highly demanding work environment;
  • Experience in organizing/coordinating meetings and interviews;
  • Experience in providing service to clients.

ABILITIES:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to utilize computer-based systems (i.e., email, Word, Power Point, MS Teams, Excel Spreadsheets, etc.);
  • Ability to provide administrative and executive support services, as well as support services in Human Resources*.

  • Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform as required;
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required;

Conditions of employment
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOMENT:
  • Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance;
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid class 5 driver’s licence.

Isolated Post Allowances (as of 01/04/2024)
  • Maximum Annual Isolated Post Amounts based on full time year-round employment

Employee: $21,256 Employee with Dependents: $35,364

Vacation Travel Assistance (as of 01/04/2024) (VTA is issued twice/year (April & October))

Employee: $2,351 Employee with Dependents: $2,351/ adult & $2,152/ child
