Cener Tech Canada Ltd. Is seeking a Pipefitter Apprentice with oilsands Maintenance, Projects experience to join the team to support the Fort Mc Murray region. In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining the highest level of professional risk management, identifying, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment and driving safety culture. We are a team of dedicated professionals who take pride in the work we do, the exceptional customers we serve, this position is in the Fort Mc Murray, AB area on a client site and it is a 14/14 rotation with travel, LOA and camp provided.
Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise in the maintenance of all processing facilities and field locations
• Perform and/or manage the performance of work required to troubleshoot, repair, maintain equipment
• Support facility engineering department on approved MOC (management of change) scopes of work
• Identify and assess opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and maintenance costs
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Make detailed sketches and field decisions for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation
• Operate cold cutting equipment
• Conduct Plug hydro testing
• Prepare and install structural steel
• Complete work history and upload quality documents to client database
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Select type and size of pipe required
• Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure in position
• Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal pipe, valves and fittings required
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks, hydro and pneumatic
• Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
• Proficient in the use of hand tools such as grinders, drills
• Conduct work in a manner prescribed by Cener Tech’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and Safe Work Practices such as hazard identification, and emergency response
• Ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance and management staff
• Maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the plant and associated areas
• Ensure ongoing performance improvement including job progression, site-specific training, process training
• Be actively involved in finding cost savings, improvements and efficiencies in our processes

Qualifications:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Excellent problem solving and planning skills to provide technical input to optimize work plans
• Proficient in standard software including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferred
• This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to the relevant requirements of Cener Tech’s Alcohol and Drug Policy which includes pre-assignment testing
