Research Assistant, Museum Queeries

Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.
Position Overview:
The Research Assistant will perform academic research related to the Museum Queeries project, including searching for relevant resources, reading and discussing relevant resources, and spearheading a small-scale research project connected to Museum Queeries based on their own interests and its intersection with the larger project.
Duties:

Perform academic research
Assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations
Prepare literature reviews
Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

Course credits in Women’s and Gender Studies and/or equivalent experience
Experience in Microsoft Word
Experience in Google Docs / Google Drive
Experience in literature review
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions
Demonstrated ability to accurately perform duties and meet specified deadlines

Condition(s) of Employment:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

The period of work will be from October 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024 and the estimated total hours of work will be 65 hours.
Note : This position is represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada - Research Capacity Unit.
