UNIT: Home Oxygen
STATUS: Regular Part Time
SALARY: $25.05 - $25.21

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Respiratory Homes Services Driver is responsible for trans-filling of oxygen vessels to patient’s homes in a timely fashion, and ensures the client has a sufficient supply at all times for the provision of home oxygen. The Driver is also involved in the delivery of other respiratory devices and is expected to be able to trouble shoot, and repair certain equipment as required. Use of personal vehicle is required for delivery of oxygen. Mileage to be reimbursed.

HOURS: Weekdays: 0800 – 1600, scheduling of hours in accordance with the Collective Agreement

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required;
• Valid G Class Driver’s License with Clean Drivers Abstract
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job including lifting up to 50lbs consistently, repetitive movements, bending, turning, kneeling, pushing, pulling, etc.
• Knowledge of Oxygen supplies, delivery methods preferred
• Valid CPR Certification preferred
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification
• WHMIS – Special knowledge of gases and oxygen
• Reading ability suitable for following written instructions;
• Computer skills to include the regular use of MS365, Work Requisition Software, RL6 (adverse reporting), Internet navigation, as well as utilizing an i Pad;
• Team and customer focused with the ability to communicate respectfully in a pleasant, flexible and professional manner with all patients, families, staff and volunteers;
• Flexibility to change and is proactive to departmental initiatives;
• Ability to work alone, prioritize and take initiative;
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
• Demonstrated dependable attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program;
• Demonstrated previous performance reflective of the Mission,

Successful candidates must provide evidence of having received a full primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada and having received the final dose 14 days before entering STEGH.
