- Successful completion from a Community College in an appropriate discipline such as television or media arts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent level of technical knowledge and understanding of daily Television News production methods.
- Ability to operate an Electronic News Gathering (ENG) camera and associated technology such as wireless microphones, lighting equipment, and communication tools.
- Ability to edit video/audio using Non-Linear editing technology such as Avid Media Composer in both an office or remote setting.
- Ability and willingness to handle technical operation (camera/audio/troubleshooting) for remote location on daily TV newscast. - Strong skills in both picture composition when using the camera as well as content presentation during the editing process.
- A strong team player with experience and/or willingness to work with new reporters to help them develop their on-camera skills.
- Knowledge of the north, and of Inuit culture and Inuktitut language is desirable.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to travel to remote locations.
- Ability to ask scripted questions of people being recorded or interviewed.
