Associate Director, Fund Platform & Solutions, MI

Job Summary
Manage all Managed Investment business related system initiatives and projects and BAU in related to the systems internally and externally with the stakeholders to make sure the systems operates well, and continuously enhance the systems based on business needs and development, for better user experience and delivery financial / non financial benefits from the system initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.


Business
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group and Country operates
  • Manage and maintain the development of strong and differentiated product proposition and brand identity.
  • Maintain strong focus on competitor activity and take proactive steps to counter them.
  • Design and Deliver new system initiatives and Improve existing systems.
  • Re-engineer product operation working flow thru system solutions.
  • Develop, renew and obtain approval for responsible Projects/systems/Programmes
  • Guide the development and implementation of the Product System
  • Ensure that product specifications and processes are incorporated in compliance with Regulatory and Group compliance
  • To conduct system training to internal sales staff and promote the system usage ratio where necessary
Processes
  • Responsible for executing and supervising the project management process, sales process and fund management process.
People & Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Risk Management
  • The ability to interpret the Group’s and country standards and policies on system/project management, identify key issues and prioritizations and put in place appropriate controls and measures
  • All responsibilities under the Risk Management Framework – both execution and supervisory – should be referenced.
Governance
  • Responsibilities relating to the direction, planning, structure, frameworks (e.g. processes and policies) and oversight. For example, Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
  • Group System Product Owner and PSS of UTS, Finantix, OMF, e BBS, PADNA, etc.
  • Group Management Investment HIVE and dependency system’s HIVE
Other Responsibilities
  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Management Investment Team, Wealth Solutions, China WRB. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats); Collaborate with other Product Managers of MI team to deliver the business goals from the delivery of related digital and system solutions.

  • To develop and manage the full range of investment products with reference to the overall Wealth Management Strategy
  • New product initiatives
  • Establish and implement the effective product features and benefits to grow customer base and revenue opportunity
  • Keep improving and sustaining Customer Satisfaction at world class level

  • Ensure Compliance discipline within all plans and execution process.
To comply with their respective Money Laundering Prevention Procedures and be alert at all times to unusual or possibly suspicious customer activity, and should report any suspicious activity to the respective Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer and line manager as well as directly to the Country MLPO in urgent or exceptional circumstances


Strengths:
  • Solid experience in managing investment products in a financial institution with responsibilities for revenue, product development, investment process, investment systems and investment risk
  • In-depth knowledge of equities, bonds, unit trusts, foreign exchange & currency products, currency options, derivatives, structured investment and latest product trends.
  • In-depth knowledge on investment process and systems, including customer-technology interfaces and delivery channels
  • Strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Ability to identify need for change, adaptable and flexible in anticipating and realising market opportunities
