We are looking for a creative and inspiring teacher to join WAB High School in the Science department.
JOB DESCRIPTION / KEY EXPECTATIONS
The General Science and Chemistry teacher will work collaboratively with other department members and support teachers as needed to develop common unit plans, effective and engaging learning experiences and assessment strategies congruent with WAB's assessment guidelines and curriculum. This teacher will, whenever appropriate, employ an inquiry-based approach and differentiate lessons to support the needs and interests of individual students. The General Science and Chemistry teacher is expected to serve as a mentor teacher, contribute to the extra curricular activities of the school and be involved in school development. The General Science and Chemistry teacher is supported by the HS Head of the Science Department in the implementation of different strategies to support students.

• General Science content knowledge (Grades 9 - 10) and Chemistry Content knowledge (Grades 11 – 12)

• Creativity, resilience and love of diversity

At least two years working experience:

• As a full time Science Teacher in a classroom setting
• With diverse students from a range of cultural and educational backgrounds including those with EAL, learning support and enrichment needs (preferred)
• Teaching IB MYP and/or IB DP (preferred)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree (specializing in specific content related to the courses you would be teaching)
• Recognized Teaching Qualification and/or Registration
• Completed IB MYP and/or IB DP workshop (preferred)
