Legal Counsel will be an effective partner to the business and will be accountable for providing legal support to different divisions of Mars Petcare China (including RC, PN, Champion and possible future acquired pet business) facilitating organic growth, manage legal risks while ensuring compliance with company’s policies and corporate governance, China and other applicable laws.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience with a reputable PRC law firm;
• Focus areas in corporate compliance or litigation;
• Familiar with FMCG industry is preferred;
• Previous in-house experience is a plus, but not essential
• Law Degree from Chinese University
  Qualified PRC Lawyer

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Manage daily corporate matters and administration such as the corporate documentation/repository etc.
• Support compliance initiatives and procedures across Petcare divisions, including such areas as Competition Law, Ethics and Compliance, Anti-Corruption and Data privacy. Ensure compliance awareness to all associates; Develop and deliver regular trainings on legal compliance topics.
• Responsible for providing general legal counselling on daily business operations, to different functions across Petcare divisions including contract review, litigation, labour disputes, marketing claims and activities review, etc.
• Monitoring developments and regulatory changes of petfood industry, ensure business is informed and aware of such developments and potential implications.
• Local & Regional Business & Project support as needed.
• Topic specific functional support.
• This position will require travel within China and, for cross-segment and cross-functional collaboration, within the Region and globally.
