Job Description
- Draft, review and revise contract/bidding documents and other legal documents for complicated commercial projects to provide timely legal support to different internal business streams and functions
- Provide corporate governance services to internal domestic/international entities
- Provide daily legal advice and capable to conduct legal research and analysis on complicated legal issues
- Assist in internal policies-making, improvement and deployment
- Support dispute resolutions in the areas of contract dispute, employment, etc.
- Develop standardized legal document templates for further internal reference
- Conduct legal trainings to management team & internal business streams and functions
- Identify potential legal risk areas of the company to provide improvements
- Benchmark with industrial/domestic and international legal practice to keep legal team abreast to new laws, regulations, and trends for better legal service
- Coordinate with external resources for complicated legal services
- Conduct compliance integrity checks, prepare and provide compliance trainings
- Lead/support compliance incident investigation
- Team player, good communication skills with fast-learning capability
- Take reasonable business trips and can handle mutil-assigments with pressures
Job Requirements:
- Advanced University degree in Law (e.g. LLB, LLM).
- Meets local legal license requirements.
- More than 5 years experience in the area of Legal advisory, counseling within a government agency, law firm, and/or in-house legal department.
- An employment within a multi–international company or a Chinese / Western JV is a plus.
- Working experience outside of China is preferable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to build up effective relationships across boundaries (business and region) within the company and with clients
- Famillar with IFIA, UN Global Compact, Compliance relevant law and regulations.
- Famillar with 3rd party testing, inspection and certification business process.
- Native Mandarin
- Fluent English skills are essential.
Abilities:
- Understands the interrelationship of financial accounting and business law
- Understands the legal dimension of employee/employer relationships within the region and ensures compliance to these obligations
- Understands the processes, methods, and challenges of civil litigation
- Develops methods for supporting innovation and change across the organization
- Has PM experiences
Reporting Lines
- Reports to General Counsel and Regional Compliance Officer of Greater China
- Position will based in Shanghai but will travel to entities/branches in Greater China Region
