We are looking for an experienced Manager of consulting to join our global Academic and government practice, specializing in the APAC region with a particular focus on China. The role will have 6 -8 direct reports and report directly to the Vice President of consulting. In this role, you'll design, execute, and oversee innovative quantitative analyses for program evaluation, science management, and research assessment. Your deep understanding of the regional landscape will drive our success.
The position offers unique and challenging hypothesis-driven projects for professionals with a scientific background and leadership experience around data-driven science management.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Bachelor's degree is required, preferably a master’s or Ph D holder
• At least 7 years of relevant consulting experience supporting academic and/or government clients.
• Experience working with government or research funding agencies evaluating or managing scientific portfolios.
• Strong understanding of scientific research processes, funding, and management.
• Proficiency in science citation data, bibliometric, and scientometric methods.
• Expertise in data analysis, including SQL, R, or Python.
• Ability to critically assess information from various sources.
• Proven project and team management skills.
• Successful track record in new business development.

What will you be doing in this role?
The Manager of Consulting will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

• Actively seek new business opportunities by leveraging your existing network and Clarivate's resources.
• Engage with key decision-makers at academic and government institutions, aiming to secure approximately $5 million in bookings annually.
• Manage people and projects, demonstrating strong project management skills and experience in coaching and mentoring direct reports.
• Dedicate roughly 40% of your time to project delivery, including quality assurance, final reporting, and mentoring team members.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction through high-quality deliverables that meet agreed-upon timelines.
• Identify and apply appropriate methodologies to address client questions and interpret research findings.
• Lead multidisciplinary analyst teams in designing and implementing projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Work effectively with a diverse team of subject matter experts, executives, and managers.
• Communicate complex research findings and innovative methodologies through written reports, data visualizations, presentations, and publications.

Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.
This is a hybrid position working in the office up to 3 days a week.
