Senior Manager, Global Chinese Service

Job Summary
As a core member of WRB Global Chinese Service (“GCS”) Programme, the candidate should drive the fundamental capability build-up and performance management of the programme, with key strengths in:
  • In-depth understanding of Wealth & Retail Banking ("WRB"), especially international banking, including Chinese high-value individuals and SMEs needs, sales & service model and regulatory requirements.
  • Track record in business planning and performance management for international banking services involving multiple international corridors.
  • Strong knowledge in international banking operation model, service centre management, account opening process, etc.
  • Ability to coordinate large-scale project with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams and work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to manage operational and regulatory risks in an international banking context.
This is a comprehensive position coordinating CPBB day-to-day business management, with key responsibilities to include:
  • Assist the GCS Project Director in translating business strategies into actionable plans, and drive GCS operating rhythm.
  • Develop and optimize GCS business process. Key initiatives include designing and implementing operation model, managing service centre, streamlining account opening process and setting-up China desk.
  • Develop and implement appropriate performance metrics that align with GCS objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between frontline and back-office teams, as well as coordinate with teams across different markets.
  • Collaborate with various departments including business units, marketing, and others to plan and execute GCS-related internal and external events.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Assist the GCS Project Director in translating business strategies into actionable plans, and drive GCS (committee) operating rhythm. This includes developing detailed implementation roadmaps, identifying key milestones, and coordinating resources effectively to ensure successful execution of GCS initiatives.
Business
  • Develop and implement appropriate performance metrics that align with GCS objectives. Regularly review and refine these metrics to ensure they remain relevant and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with various departments including business units, marketing, and others to plan and execute GCS-related internal and external events.
Processes
  • Develop and optimize GCS business process. Key initiatives include designing and implementing operation model, managing service centre, streamlining account opening process and setting-up China desk.
People & Talent
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between frontline and back-office teams, as well as coordinate with teams across different markets. This includes organizing regular cross-functional meetings, establishing clear communication channels, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across markets.
Risk Management
  • Manage operational and regulatory risks in an international banking context.
Governance
  • Maintain close communication with overseas markets and frontline to ensure that GCS initiatives and processes are in compliance with local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree or above
