IFF is seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join our Scent Technology & Innovation (ST&I) China division as Scientist.

Your Focus

As Scientist, you will be involved in managing and running technical projects for the Home and Fabric Care category. Your role includes internal creative support for fragrance/technology performance & stability as well as external technical expertise demonstration in front of customer.

The role would require you to thoroughly implement IFF technology and investigate Fragrance solutions that satisfy consumers’ needs in the Home and Fabric Care category. Our ambition is to exceed our customer’s technical expectations when introducing new products and formulations to ensure that.

In addition, you must have the ability to lead sizeable technical projects that are either proactive or value to market (V2M). You will need to develop and build a continuous healthy and strong intimacy with all our customers.

• Implement IFF technologies and investigate fragrance solutions that satisfy consumers’ needs in Home and Fabric Care category.
• Plan and execute complex technical work for V2M, proactive and Analytical projects under the direction of technical leaders; Lead sizeable technical projects that are either proactive or V2M (value to market) projects as well as small scope projects internally or externally by providing key technical supports.
• Need to develop and build a continuous healthy and strong intimacy and business relationship with all our customers and clients based on trust and expertise.
• Have a legacy of technical creativity to develop technical insight and recommendations that support projects decision making, category strategy and customers’ proposition to highlight IFF product advantages.

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Science & Technology, Cosmetic, perfumery, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years’ for Master Degree or 8 years’ experiences for Bachelors Degree in the Fragrance, consumer goods or ingredients chemical industry.
• Knowledgeable in home and fabric Care applications, formulation, raw materials and chemical processes, the knowledge in Fragrance formulation and olfactive skills is preferred.
• Understanding of the creative and commercialization process of new products/technologies; Able to work independently on projects without direct manager supervision and experience in managing technical staff.
• Business knowledge and acumen within the fragrance and HPC industry; Conceptual capacity/flexibility to quickly grasp different concepts; Curious and knowledgeable to identify and solve technical problems creatively and intelligently.
• Results driven and agile in a fast moving environment; working on cross-functional projects and teams as a strong team player with influencing skills.
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft office (especially Excel, Power Point and Outlook); Strong written and presentation communication skills to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences as well as senior leaders.
