Senior NLP researcher - SAP HANA Machine Learning

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The development team for SAP BTP HANA & Persistency in China is part of the global HANA product organization with 1000+highly motivated employees who design and produce SAPs leading database products, specifically SAP HANA. The global SAP HANA & Database development team is responsible for architecture, design, development, and delivery of industry leading, in-memory database technology. SAP HANA Predictive Analysis Library (PAL), the in-memory machine learning library with 100+ scalable &high-performance algorithms, is developed in SAP Labs, China. Within the team, we have Ph D researchers, algorithm developers, data scientists, and system engineers to build the next generation of data platform and help enterprise customers to utilize machine learning & data science algorithms on enterprise data.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As Researcher, you are expected to do the following tasks:
- Performing functional/empirical analysis and relevant research in areas of NLP, and other AI related areas.
- Investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to PAL and related products.
- Paper publishing and patent applications.
- Participating in the development, enhancement and maintenance of Predictive Analysis Library and related products.
- Supporting customers, partners and colleagues in PAL and related products.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimal Masters Degree in computer science, software engineering, statistics, mathematics, or other science and engineering related areas; Ph D in relevant areas is preferred.
- Excellent communication skill in both Chinese and English.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Key requirements
- Solid and systematic knowledge and experience for NLP and AI related area is a must.
- Professional skills in at least 1 of the following development languages: Python, R, C/C++, Java,
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and an evolving technology stack.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Linux environment.
- Experience in Database and SQL.
