What we need

The main goal of this role is to have a solid understanding of how APIs, integrations, and various integration platforms work and are used in web scraping. You will continuously research our user needs, analyze competitors’ capabilities, and, based on that, create a development roadmap to help Apify customers more quickly and efficiently integrate Apify into their business processes.
This role combines standard product management with product marketing management. We expect you to conduct product management activities in cooperation with your team's engineering team lead and other cross-functional roles (e.g., design, marketing, sales, support, etc.) Additionally, you will be responsible for communication with various stakeholders in other services we aim to integrate (e.g., Google, Notion, Airtable, etc.) or Integration platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make, etc.) to set up beneficial partnerships. The last aspect of this role is post-release communication of new or improved integrations across all of Apify’s marketing touchpoints.

What you will be doing

• You’ll be part of the product team, reporting to the product's VP and working closely with engineering teams on a daily basis.
• Work with our Developer Experience team and UX/UI designers to make sure that functionality and user experience across all parts of the Apify platform are uniform and understandable.
• Collaborate with the Apify Store Team to refine and improve integrations that will enhance the capabilities of our Actor.
• Working with a team where the product manager, product marketing manager, and tech lead are equals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders - including engineering, design, sales, data analysis, and marketing teams - to create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with our business objectives and customer requirements.
• Work closely with other product teams in dual-track development to prioritize the most impactful opportunities.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative tests in cooperation with continuous user feedback to improve usability and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and document UX to bring integration Apify content in line with the rest.

What are we looking for?

• Ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams and understand complex technical concepts (essential)
• Knowledge or experience with APIs and various integration platforms (essential)
• Strong technical understanding and familiarity with integrations, web scraping, automation, data extraction, or related technologies (desirable)
• Knowledge of best practices in product management and agile development processes
• Understanding of business strategies, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape, and the ability to align product initiatives with overarching business goals
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to make informed decisions and drive product improvements

What we expect from you in the first six months:

By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:

• Receive orientation and training to help you learn Apify’s culture, values, and how the various teams work together Apify.
• Learn about our tools, processes, and workflows to understand where you fit in.
• Familiarize yourself with the Apify platform and our Integration portfolio.
• Perform a competitive analysis of an assigned area to better understand the problem and the current state of the market.
• Meet with our customers and inquire about their top concerns and the most significant challenges they face during onboarding and efficiently performing their tasks using Apify.
• Understand the acquisition channels through which Apify gets customers and its main competitive advantages.
• Deliver your first wins (a small or medium-sized feature.)

By the end of your first 6 months, we expect you to:

• Actively participate in evaluating and planning the overall roadmap against quarterly OKRs.
• Understand what sort of data is collected about your product area, where it’s stored, who is responsible for it, and how you can access it to support any features you are scoping.
• Start to take ownership of channels and projects without extensive guidance from established team members.
• Take ownership of your roadmap.
