Primary Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team within the biopharma industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of a fast-paced, innovative business. The Senior Accountant will handle complex financial activities, including month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, while also driving process improvements.

Primary Purpose
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
-
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements applicable to the biopharma industry.
- Perform variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Assist with the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- General Ledger Management:

- Manage and oversee the company’s general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Ensure proper accounting for all business transactions, including R&D expenses, clinical trial costs, and overheads.
- Compliance & Auditing:

- Liaise with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and facilitating audit requests.
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations and liaise with tax advisors for any tax planning or compliance requirements.
- Vat Liability and submission.
- Process Improvement:

- Drive process improvements and automation efforts to enhance efficiency within the finance department.
- Recommend and help implement new systems and controls to optimize accounting operations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and data analysis for better financial decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with operations finance teams to ensure accurate financial tracking of projects and activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA, CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role (experience in the biopharma or life sciences industry is highly desirable).
- Skills and Knowledge:

- Working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with Microsoft BC, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with financial reporting tools and software.
- Familiarity with clinical research organisation desirable but not essential
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA, CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role (experience in the biopharma or life sciences industry is highly desirable).
- Skills and Knowledge:
