Job Description:
As a Translator/Project Assistant at Vema Carbon, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and relationships between our company and our clients/partners.
Your primary responsibilities will include providing live translation services during meetings, supporting business correspondence, and helping to establish and maintain professional relationships. This is a part-time position with the possibility of becoming full-time based on performance during the probation period of 2 months.
Key Responsibilities:
●Live Translation: Provide accurate and fluent translations between Czech and English during meetings and calls. Same for translations between German and English, if the candidate has the necessary skill set.
●Client Relations: Establish and maintain professional relationships on behalf of the company through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings.
●Travel: Be open to participating in business trips, both domestically and internationally, either as part of a team or independently.
●Administrative Support: Assist in preparing reports, documents, and presentations, ensuring all communications are clear and professional.
●Industry Knowledge: Apply any existing knowledge of the energy sector to contribute to company assessments and project development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
●Fluency in Czech and English: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
●Translation Skills: Proven experience in translating business communications from Czech to English and vice versa. Knowledge of German is a significant advantage.
●Professional Interaction: Strong business etiquette, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and associates.
●Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to travel and adapt to various business environments.
●Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in all tasks, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
●Integrity and Work Ethic: Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and a can-do attitude.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
●Knowledge of the Energy Sector: Prior experience or education in the energy/ biogas/ engineering sectors, particularly in sustainable energy or Bio LNG, will be advantageous.
●German Language Skills: Proficiency in German is highly desirable but not mandatory.
●Russian/ Ukrainian Language Skills: To a lesser extent than German, but knowledge of either of these languages will also be seen as a plus.
●Local Candidate: Preference will be given to candidates based in or near Prague, Czech Republic, to avoid relocation needs.
