Development Scientist, Quality Control, Analytical Development Department

We are expanding our large-scale facility to encompass 20 x 20,000L bioreactors for Drug Substance production. We are well in-progress on building our first Filling Facility in Denmark.

About the Position
We are looking for a Development Scientist to join the Quality Control (QC), Analytical Development Department to play a key role in the development and implementation of new analytical methods, new analytical equipment, and scouting of new technologies to support our technology transfer programs.
The primary focus of the Department is to ensure timely implementation of analytical methods for analysis of process samples, reference samples, standards, and raw materials. You will collaborate broadly across QC. You will also ensure that we have methods in place to test for various metabolites and large molecules. In this position you will need to have the overview in a busy and changing work setting. A strong skill set in analytical methods and great communication is essential. Furthermore, you should have a flair for various software programs and laboratory robotics.
Primary responsibilities:
  • Development and optimize analytical laboratory methods and protocols.
  • Apply robotic methods and technologies to improve laboratory throughput.
  • Scouting of new technologies and trends.
  • Automation and streamlining of various analytical chemistry/biochemistry methods.
  • Data treatment, technical report drafting and preparation.
  • Work in conjunction with QC Analytical Development, QC Testing Teams and contract laboratory organizations during proof of concept of new methods and new technologies.
  • Analytical method support to QC.
  • Ad hoc QC projects within new technologies and equipment.
  • Ensure safety-first where you proactively keep an eye out for safety issues.

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:
  • MSc or Ph D within Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Solid understanding of GMP/GLP guidelines with minimum 3 years of experience from the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, e.g. from a Research laboratory or QC laboratory.
  • Broad background in analytical methods, such LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HPLC and FT-IR as well as the capability of being able to absorb and utilize new knowledge quickly.
  • Knowledge of data management, data analysis, and statistical treatment of data with programs such as Alteryx, JMP or similar software.
  • Knowledge of laboratory automation and high throughput screening approaches including robotic programming and scripts.
  • Knowledge of data integrity management and GAMP5 guidelines.
  • Experience in the Unites States Pharmacopoeia and the European Pharmacopoeia.
  • Knowledge of ICH guidelines is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with method transfer and validation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have a safety-first mindset where you proactively keep an eye out for safety issues.
