Senior Project Manager for IT System Integration in Pharmaceutical Merger

As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the integration efforts, establishing a comprehensive view of the existing IT landscape (As-Is) and defining a clear, strategic vision for the future (To-Be). This role offers an exceptional opportunity to facilitate high-level alignment and ensure a seamless, efficient transition across both legacy and newly integrated systems.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of existing systems (Systems A, B, C, etc.), mapping out functionalities, capabilities, dependencies, overlaps, and data quality.
- Compile detailed documentation on each system, providing a robust foundation for informed decision-making.
2) Define the “Future/Target State” (To-Be)
- Develop a strategic vision for the post-merger IT landscape, determining which existing systems to retain, consolidate, or replace, and addressing legacy systems as part of a comprehensive end-state plan.
- Identify and outline key systems critical for the unified infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
3) Strategic Integration Planning
- Define clear objectives, scope, and risk parameters for the IT integration, building a roadmap that prioritizes applications and services.
- Establish a logical sequence for integrating each component, aligned with organizational priorities and timelines.
4) Define and Implement Migration Strategy
- Select and plan a migration strategy: evaluate the pros and cons of a “big bang” (full, immediate transition) versus a phased migration.
- Identify and plan for any sub-projects or dependencies that may need customized integration approaches to ensure minimal disruption and a successful outcome.

Extensive experience in Project Management, with a focus on IT systems integration in large, complex environments.

Demonstrated expertise in managing mergers or similar large-scale integration projects.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven capabilities in stakeholder management and cross-functional team coordination.

Background in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
