Do you want to take a strategic role in one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations, with over 9,000 employees worldwide? If you have a solid background in finance, good analytical and data management skills and are up for the challenge of building up a new function, then this is your chance. DRC is looking for a Treasury Specialist to create and implement effective processes to manage treasury, liquidity and cash flows.
Who are we?
The FRISC (Finance, Supply Chain and Risk) Department is one of the core support functions at our headquarters. FRISC consists of around 75 engaged employees, who are responsible for DRC’s financial and supply chain affairs globally, in close cooperation with the operational departments.
You will be a part of the Central Accounting Department consisting of 9 controllers and accountants. You will report directly to the Head of Central Accounting in close collaboration with the Executive Director of the FRISC department.
About the job
This is a newly created position. Your target will consist of developing and implementing processes for treasury management, currency hedging, liquidity and cash flow management. You will start with practical operations incl. data collection and connecting with main stakeholders. Then, you will move to more strategic and complex matters following up recommendations from a recent internal study.
Your key tasks will consist in:
  • Liaising and developing banking relationships with local as well as global banking partners, e.g. regularly KYC’s.
  • Setting up a cash flow tool and assisting with the daily cash flow management, e.g. in relation to the weekly payment runs.
  • Elaborating weekly liquidity reporting and sitting at the weekly liquidity board.
  • Developing and executing hedging strategies for currency and interest rate exposures.
  • Preparing short- and medium-term liquidity forecasts.
  • Ad-hoc tasks
Running these tasks will imply collaborating with many internal and external stakeholders such as DRC’s country offices and banking partners.
About you
To be successful in this role, it is expected that you be a proactive good team player, willing to be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
  • Master’s degree in finance & accounting, Business, Economics or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an international organization, a bank, a consultancy or financial institution. Previous experience in the NGO sector is not a must but an advantage.
  • A good understanding of corporate finance, cash flow management and financial markets and an interest in foreign exchange risk management.
  • Analytical skills and ability to handle data in a structured manner.
  • Solid interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in an easy and understandable manner and to convince.
  • Good intercultural skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Some experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • High level of written and spoken English. As many of your colleagues will be Danish, some language skills in Danish would be a plus.
In this position, you are also expected to demonstrate DRC’ five core competencies:
  • Striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.
  • Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.
  • Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.
  • Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.
  • Demonstrating integrity: You uphold and promote the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in relation to our values and Code of Conduct, including safeguarding against sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.
What we offer
You will be working in a dynamic and multicultural environment, with the opportunity to build up a new position, to work on strategic matters of high interest for our board of directors and to have a unique cross-function overview of the organization.
Contract length: A permanent full-time position (37 hours incl. lunch) with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days a week
Workplace: DRC Headquarter at Borgergade 10, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Start date: Ideally, we would like you to start as soon as possible but we are ready to wait for the right candidate.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (agreement for Academics) or other relevant agreements. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
