We are now looking for
Laboratory technician/analyst
for Microbial Technology team in R&D Rajamäki, Finland. If you apply successfully for this job, you will join us at an exciting time. Our business is growing and to ensure that this growth continues, we want you to help strengthening and expanding our bioprocess technology team in R&D. Roal Oy’s Microbial technology team is responsible for developing production processes that will carry the business for years to come. A laboratory technician/analyst is a key player in getting enzyme production processes finetuned and ready for transfer to the on-site production facility. The position is permanent and located in Rajamäki, Finland.
The Role
In your role as laboratory technician/analyst, your work will be related to research scale cultivations. Your main responsibilities entail the precise execution of fermentation and downstream processing experiments, the conductance of different analytical methods e.g. enzyme analytics, and diligent documentation of the results. You play an important role in keeping our pilot facility in top shape, and your insights are required to improve it even more. You also contribute to maintaining the quality and safety standards of the team in all your work.

About You
You hold a Bachelor´s degree from University of Applied Sciences or technician´s degree. You are both independent and able to work in a team. We value the willingness to learn, the determination to achieve results, an established routine for laboratory practices, and the ability to understand the big picture to meet commercial priorities. The team consists of both Finnish- and English-speaking colleagues, so you need to be able to communicate in both languages.
Some of the key qualifications we appreciate are:

A focus on quality: You are precise, efficient, and tidy
A wide analytical understanding based on technical education, preferably laboratory or process technology, biochemistry, chemistry, or the natural sciences.
Experience in working with bioprocess technology equipment, as well as doing enzyme analytics, is an asset
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks within the given parameters
Good written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English
