At SOK IT, we develop, operate, and maintain the core systems of S Group. At S Group we run business of billions; in 2023 our sales before taxes were 14.2 billion euros in total. Behind this level of operation are our employees and reliable and secure core systems, which keep the wheels rolling daily and 24/7 in some cases. Thanks to SOK IT professionals, we have reliable points-of-sales and transactions up-and -running, HR solutions supporting the leadership and employee experience, and proper tools and systems in use for our employees so they can focus on their main expertise, whether it be serving customers or planning and making the decisions about the assortments and product categories, for example.
Currently, we are renewing S Group’s core systems to harmonize the IT systems and business processes related to assortment planning, procurement, and supply chain in our retail business sector. The renewal and roll-out means that the reliability of our SAP systems will be even more business-critical in the future. That’s why we are seeking a proactive and seasoned SAP Release Manager to oversee release processes for multiple SAP systems. This is a completely new role in our organization, and the role is permanent and full-time. Our office is located in Helsinki, Vallila, and we work in a hybrid setting. We hope to see you at the office on a monthly basis, at least. If you possess a robust understanding of SAP, release management, and testing practices and are adept at ensuring their implementation, you may be the ideal candidate for this role.

SAP Release Manager
As an SAP Release Manager, you’ll

Manage, plan, schedule and control the release process for multiple SAP systems to ensure successful deployment to production for all retail business areas. Currently we use SAP Solution Manager for version control.

Request necessary test cases and results from the responsible teams and interpret the implications of the results. We use Tricentis Neo Load (and also other tools) for performance testing, Tricentis Tosca for test automation and Tricentis Live Compare for change review.

Oversee the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and other change management forums.

Identify dependencies of changes, inform the right stakeholders, and coordinate the releases accordingly.

Schedule and inform the right parties about the hot fixes provided by SAP.

Do close cooperation inside SOK IT with Solution Analysts, QA Engineers and other technical SAP experts
