What you’ll do & Who you are

We seek a professional individual to join our team as a Backend Engineer (d/f/m). In this role, you will develop services for our transactional domain and ensure people can safely buy and sell on the platform. You will be part of a cross-functional team that includes members from Product, Design, and Engineering with the mission to "Make Kleinanzeigen the #1 Re-Commerce platform in Germany." Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

Build the technology future of online classifieds in a scalable, clean and sustainable way
Improve our applications and APIs to become better each day
Ensure code quality and maintainability by improving build and test systems
Establish your own ideas for code and process improvements and achieve the next level together with the team
Be involved in the whole development lifecycle from architecture to QA, and deployment

Your Skill Profile:

Passion for clean code and an eye for simplicity and pragmatism
Good programming skills in Java and the Spring Framework
Solid know-how in object-oriented design
Interest and ability to learn and stay up to date with new technologies and concepts
Believer in teamwork and a Dev Ops approach
Experience with Continuous Delivery
Know-how in manual testing and test automation (e.g. JUnit, Testcontainers, REST-assured)
Experience with RDBMS and/or No SQL (e.g. Cassandra, My SQL, Postgre SQL)
