Main Responsibilities
- Oversees the company's accounting function and has overall responsibility for the accounting and tax department
- Ensures that all financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies under Greek GAAP and IFRS
- Manages the month-end and year-closing activities
- Approves monthly payments including payroll, vendors and tax liabilities (VAT, WHT, stamp duty, payroll and social security taxes, income tax, deferred taxes, etc.)
- Is responsible for the accurate preparation of the management reporting on a yearly and quarterly basis
- Reviews and signs off the company’s financial statements
- Proactively performs preventive quality controls and takes corrective actions when necessary
- Monitors company’s overall statutory and tax compliance
- Guarantees timely submission of all corporate tax returns
- Reviews of business performance versus budget, monthly forecasting, cash flows, P&L analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Handles transfer pricing file management
- Acts as the main point of contact for statutory and tax auditors, bank executives, regulatory bodies and other external parties
- BSc degree in Accounting; MSc in Accounting, Finance or any other related field will be considered an asset
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting, tax and payroll activities, preferably in the Food / Hospitality industry
- Holder of A’ Class Signatory rights
- Strong knowledge of Tax and Accounting legislation; participation in Long Term Accounting and Tax seminars will be considered an asset
- Solid knowledge of Greek GAAP and IFRS reporting
- CPA / ACCA certification will be considered a plus
- Excellent knowledge of English, both verbal and written
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
