Prototyping Supervisor Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prototyping Supervisor for our Research & Development Department in Xanthi, Greece. The Prototyping Supervisor will oversee the development and prototyping of Li-Ion battery systems from concept through to production. The role will collaborate with Technical Project Managers, System Engineers, design, and engineering teams to translate design specifications into functional prototypes.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful prototype development
- Manage resources such as materials, equipment, and personnel to ensure efficient prototyping processes. This includes tracking inventory, scheduling equipment maintenance, and optimizing workflow
- Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technicians involved in battery pack prototyping
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members. This may involve organizing workshops, seminars, or on-the-job training sessions
- Ensure that prototypes meet performance, safety, and reliability standards
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for prototyping, including assembly, testing, and validation
- Implement best practices for quality control and continuous improvement
- Identifying and resolving issues or challenges that arise during the prototyping process. This may involve troubleshooting technical problems, addressing design flaws, or finding alternative solutions to meet project objectives
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of prototyping processes and design changes
- Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders, including management and engineering teams
- Ensure all prototyping activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations
- Implement and enforce safety protocols within the prototyping lab
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for prototyping
- Manage relationships with external partners to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a prototyping or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on approach
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
