Reports To: Cargo Revenue Solution Manager/ Cargo Revenue Manager Planning, Analytics & Solutions
The Assistant Manager, Cargo Revenue Planning, Analytics & Solutions is a key member of the Cargo Revenue Management team. This job holder will lead a team of cargo revenue management professionals to set and measure our network traffic mix, power commercial decisions with quality and actionable insight as well as innovate our decision process through data science and automation to boost our pricing and revenue efficiency as well as productivity towards more healthy financial contribution to the Cathay Pacific Group.

The Assistant Manager, Cargo Revenue Planning, Analytics & Solutions is a key member of the Cargo Revenue Management team. This job holder will lead a team of cargo revenue management professionals to set and measure our network traffic mix, power commercial decisions with quality and actionable insight as well as innovate our decision process through data science and automation to boost our pricing and revenue efficiency as well as productivity towards more healthy financial contribution to the Cathay Pacific Group.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue planning
- Lead the budget and forecast process for network cargo revenue, traffic volume and their mix.
- Act as the product manager of Target$, our network traffic optimisation model for setting and measuring revenue and traffic mix efficiency.
- Conduct business performance analysis and provide periodic insight to management.
- Architect, manage and enhance various models to improve forecast accuracy.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient design, build and delivery of commercial analytics.
- Act as the portfolio manager of In$ight2, our new-generation platform where people and information gather to power business growth.
- Champion insight-led revenue generation approach and promote insight driven decision making culture across the worldwide commercial team.
- Contribute as subject matter expert to initiatives and projects requiring commercial analytics and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure that data from a variety of channels are correctly collected, stored and applied.
- Innovate revenue management decision process by experimenting data and algorithm then projectising to scale monetization.
- Act as the portfolio manager of our revenue management data science & solutions and responsible for their design, construction and operations.
- Analyse and measure the effectiveness of existing system parameters and forecasting algorithms and develop practical, scalable and quantifiable business improvements.
- Advocate the data and digital-led revenue decision approach and drive adoption with structure and regular training as well as usage promotion to improve revenue decision quality and productivity.
- Innovate solutions to re-engineer our pricing processes to enhance pricing efficiency, quality, and responsiveness.
- Lead change management to ensure successful adoption of the dynamic pricing solution across the network.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate enhanced pricing processes within the cargo ecosystem. Implement changes to upstream/downstream systems, and for commercial adoption.
- Conduct testing and validation of the pricing engine to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement of the new pricing solution and practices.
- Lead the insight driven decision making approach and promote the cultural change to the team.
- Bachelor degree in an analytical discipline, such as business, science and engineering.
- Prefer 5 years of relevant experience. Prior people management experience and exposure with Lean and project management would be an advantage.
- Expert skill in data management, data mining, BI tools, eg Alteryx, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI, Excel and knowledge in SQL, VBA etc.
- Natural ability as strategies implementer – act as the bridge between commercial & technical and sales & operations; equip with good communication & presentation skills.
- Strong leadership talents – equip with “team player” attitude and spirit, and the natural ability to establish consensus among cross-functional lines.
- Excellent research and benchmarking capabilities – conduct market research and competitive analysis with extensive experience in data collection, synthesis and documentations.
- Instinctively numerate – love numbers and, more importantly, curious to understand the story behind numbers and able to drive behavioural improvement through numbers.
