Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 18 (HK$40,620 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 27 (HK$61,865 per month)

Entry Requirements: Candidates should have: -

(a) a degree which is recognised by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) as satisfying in full the academic requirements for the Corporate Membership of the HKIS in the General Practice Division, or equivalent;

(b) a pass result in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE);

(c) met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 1’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent (See Note (2));

(d) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law test (See Note (3)); and

(e) 2 years’ relevant working experience.

Note:
(1) Candidates who at the time of assuming duty (i) are Corporate Members in the General Practice Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), or equivalent; and (ii) have one year or more of the relevant working experience after obtaining the professional qualification stated in (i) will NOT be considered for the Assistant Valuation Surveyor post. Successful candidates will be required to make a declaration to that effect.

A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test is an entry requirement for all civil service jobs. Duties: An Assistant Valuation Surveyor is under training to gain the experience necessary to become qualified professional valuation surveyor and mainly deployed on valuing landed properties, advising on rents and negotiating leases of premises for Government, under the supervision of an experienced professional officer.

Terms of Appointment: A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years or the time taken for him/her to obtain the requisite professional qualification, whichever is the later and subject to a maximum of four years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
