Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University, and championing the wise use of IT for learning, research and administration activities.

The Network Systems Team of the Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) oversees the support and operations of Campus Network Infrastructure and Data Center. We are looking for a skilled and experienced candidate for supporting daily operations in the Data Center and providing front-end support for network and server systems.

This role involves supporting Data Center operations, providing hardware support for servers and High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, as well as maintaining operating systems and networking technologies. The following are the key responsibilities of this position:

• Provide network and server support including diagnosing, resolving hardware issues and replacing failed components. Work closely with network engineers or system administrators to address the issues that span multiple areas of expertise.
• Assist with installing, configuring, and updating server software including Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Manage and maintain structured cabling systems in Data Center and Wiring Closets, including patch panels, fiber optics, and copper cables. Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and documentation.
• Monitor Data Center infrastructure using specialized tools and software to ensure optimal performance, detect anomalies, and proactively address potential issues.
• Provide on-call support for Data Center issues that may arise outside of regular business hours. Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, hardware failures, or security incidents, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
• Develop automation scripts using Ansible/PERL/Python/Shell Scripts.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, preferably with relevant work experience in Data Center operations and server support. The successful candidate should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. They should also possess sound analytical trouble-shooting ability and good communication skills. Be able to work under pressure and show a good teamwork with self-initiative attitude are required. Candidates with less experience or fresh graduates will be considered for a junior level position.
