Kai Tak Sports Park is a fully integrated sports, leisure and entertainment destination that is expected to be completed in 2024. The 28 hectare park will be part of the redevelopment on the site of the old Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak. Kai Tak Sports Park Ltd (KTSPL) has been awarded the contract to undertake this project. Role Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Rigging Supervisor to join our Technical Services team at Kai Tak Sports Park. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all rigging operations, including the management of venue rigging equipment, installation and removal of rigging equipment such as drape trusses and LED screens, and supervision of rigging work carried out by both in-house teams and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain venue rigging equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal condition and compliant with safety standards

Plan, coordinate, and supervise the installation and removal of rigging equipment, including drape trusses and LED screens

Oversee rigging operations carried out by both venue staff and external contractors

Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures for all rigging activities

Develop and maintain rigging plans, method statements, and other relevant documentation

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and industry best practices

Train and mentor junior rigging staff, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism

Collaborate with other departments to support various events and productions

Maintain accurate records of all rigging activities, equipment usage, and maintenance

Stay current with the latest rigging technologies and techniques, recommending improvements as necessary

Requirements

NRC Level 3 qualification or equivalent

Minimum of 10 years of experience in entertainment rigging

Extensive knowledge and practical experience in all areas covered by NRC Level 2 and Level 3 guidelines, including:

Rigging operations and installations

Working at height with Personal Fall Protection Systems (PFPS)

Risk assessment and health & safety management

Supervision of rigging teams

Rigging calculations and load estimations

Use of various rigging equipment (e.g., electric chain hoists, steel wire ropes, slings, shackles)

Truss assembly and lifting operations

Strong understanding of HK legislation related to rigging work (or ability to quickly adapt to local regulations)

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical ability to perform rigging tasks and work at height

Preferred Qualifications

Additional certifications in related fields (e.g., IRATA, IPAF)

Experience with performer flying systems or automation (while not covered by NRC, this knowledge is beneficial)

Familiarity with CAD software for creating rigging plots
