Legal Advisor

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.

You will be responsible for:

advising on land grant matters, deed of mutual covenant application and pre-sale consent application;
coordinating with colleagues from other Divisions for the preparation of prequalification exercise, EOI brochure, tender invitation and development documents, including the preparation and production of tender and development agreement;
advising on the compliance matters of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance including the approval of sales documentation and sales brochure;
assisting Data Privacy Officer in developing and implementing data privacy policies and management in accordance with applicable laws and regulations;
drafting and reviewing internal documents, practice notes, and guidelines and papers for the Board, panels, committees of WKCDA or its subsidiaries or such other bodies as directed;
instructing, liaising and working with external legal advisors and professionals, and monitoring their performance as appropriate; and
advising and resolving any other legal issues as the General Counsel / General Manager - Legal may direct from time to time.

You should:

be a solicitor duly admitted under the Legal Officers Ordinance with a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience;
have solid experience (either in-house or in private practice) in property development projects, in addition, wide exposure in the formation and vetting of commercial contracts and intellectual property matters, which would be an advantage;
have a strong understanding of the laws and practices related to personal data privacy in Hong Kong (PDPO), Mainland China (PIPL), as well as EU (GDPR), which would also be an advantage;
demonstrate good commercial acumen and interpersonal skills;
possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
be able to work independently and be able to work under pressure; and
have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
