Roles and Responsibilities

You will take up the important role of Junior Trader and will be responsible for duties including:

Developing a deep understanding of CIGP’s operational workflow in order to properly allocate, assist with, support and participate in the daily trading related tasks performed by the team in close collaboration with the Operations department;

These tasks include but are not limited to:
Placing and managing trade orders across multiple asset classes and platforms, including Equities, Funds, Bonds and Foreign Exchange (FX) under the Senior Trading Associate’s supervisor.

Routing and authorising the above-mentioned trade orders for execution.

Authorising trade settlement instructions inputted by the Operations team daily.

Communicating with various Brokers and Custodian Banks in order to ensure the smooth receipt of data reporting that are necessary inputs for some daily/weekly workflows handled by the team.

Communicating with Clients on various matters including Order Instructions and Cash Transfer Instructions.

Participating in the opening of new brokerage relationships when and where necessary;

Collaborating with various internal parties in HK and Global Team to promptly address ad-hoc requests, solve potential issues timely and maintain a high-quality level of service; and

Actively participating in the improvement and optimization of the trading execution, booking and settlement workflow as a whole.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience working within the front or middle office in a financial institution;

Demonstrates proactive and persistent characteristics, approaching tasks with a positive, problem-solving mindset;

Quick learner with a curiosity to understand how things work, possessing strong attention to detail and able to work independently under tight deadlines;

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point) an advanced level in Excel modelling, such as VBA, is a plus;

Fluent in English (proficiency in other languages is a plus);

An international background (having worked and/or studied abroad) is favoured; and
