Lingnan University’s Faculties of Arts, Business, Social Sciences, School of Data Science, School of Graduate Studies, and School of Interdisciplinary Studies run undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research postgraduate programmes. Research Officer
The Advanced Institute for Global Chinese Studies
(Post Ref.: 24/339)
The appointee is expected to: (i) assist the Director of the Institute to coordinate and facilitate research projects in a wide spectrum of Humanities areas with a primary focus on modern and premodern Chinese literature and culture; (ii) assist in editing the Institute’s publications and its English journal Prism: Theory and Modern Chinese Literature and liaise with contributors, editors and publishers; (iii) organize seminars and international conferences in collaboration with other academic departments, or local and overseas institutions; (iv) prepare grant applications and proposals; (v) handle administrative work of the Institute and (vi) undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Applicants should have: (a) a good Master’s degree in the humanities; (b) preferably 5 years of relevant working experience; (c) background training in the humanities; (d) excellent command of English and Chinese; (e) good interpersonal and communication skills; and (f) proficient IT skills. Preference will be given to candidates with track records in academic publications, translation and budget management.
Salary and Benefits
Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
