The Science Unit (http://www.LN.edu.hk/scienceunit) would like to invite applications for the above-mentioned post. The appointee will join the freshwater ecology research team led by Prof. Anthony Lau (https://www.ln.edu.hk/scienceunit/antlau.php) and will be working on environmental DNA (e DNA)-related projects.

Responsibilities

• Support research on local freshwater animals
• Collect field samples for e DNA work
• Provide general lab maintenance, including ordering consumables, cleaning glassware, and organizing samples
• Perform experimental duties include molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, q PCR, high-throughput sequencing

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree (or above) holder in ecology/biotechnology/molecular biology, or relevant disciplines;
• At least 1 year of experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA extraction, PCR, q PCR);
• Comfortable with conducting field surveys in freshwater habitats;
• Organized and responsible with data management

Applicants with prior experience in e DNA and/or q PCR and bioinformatics are highly encouraged to apply for this position.
