Senior Dental Officer

Major Duties:

(a)

To be in charge of the operation of the Dental Care Training Centre;

(b)

To supervise the oral care workshops or seminars;

(c)

To provide academic leadership in programme design and development, validation and the implementation of quality assurance policy;

(d)

To provide dental screening and emergency services for the promotion of dental hygiene and preventive dental service;

(e)

To supervise Dental Officer, Dental Hygienists and Dental Surgery Assistants’ work; and

(f)

To prepare interim report and annual report for the performance of the programme.

Requirements:

(a)

A recognised degree in Dentistry and a post-graduate qualification, preferably with relevant professional qualifications;

(b)

Qualification of registered Dentist under the Dentists Registration Ordinance (Cap. 156) in Hong Kong and valid practicing certificate issued by the Dental Council of Hong Kong;

(c)

At least 8 years’ relevant experience;

(d)

Good academic standing, strong academic leadership and capability to take forward the initiatives for the development of the Health and Life Sciences (HLS) Discipline, including the development of in-service training programmes and corporate training;

(e)

Good networking capability for organisational development and be able to establish linkages with companies and organisations of the HLS Discipline and other major stakeholders;

(f)

Good management, entrepreneurial, interpersonal and communication skills; and

(g)

Good proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:

(1)

The post is at the rank of Principal Lecturer.

(2)

The work location is in IVE (Chai Wan).

(3)

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.

(4)

The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and at different work locations as assigned.
