Major responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role. The incumbent will report to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Officer.

• Responsible for the health and well-being of all animals and the integrity of housing and enclosures
• Maintain a good standard of husbandry
• Diet preparation and feed all animals according to dietary guidelines and feeding schedules
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all enclosures and surrounding areas at all times
• Monitor health of animals and report observations to Vet Staff
• Conduct pre-release training schedule according to instructions
• To cover allocated WRS and AWRO responsibilities when supervisors are absent
• To monitor feed and supplies

Job Requirements

• At least 5 years’ relevant working experience, with hands-on experience in animal husbandry
• Solid supervisory experience preferred
• Holding qualifications in biological science, animal husbandry or related subjects will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm regarding conservation and animal care issues.
• Confident in public speaking, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
• Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, Publisher & Power Point etc.)
• Preferably bilingual in both written and spoken Cantonese and English, Mandarin will be an advantage.
• Physically fit to work in an outdoor environment and in adverse weather.
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work independently and work in a team.
