Reports to: Senior Solution Lead / Solution Lead
This role is responsible to deliver software applications that is aligned with business vision and goal in the delivered software application.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with key resources to conceptualize and propose solution approaches
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute business plans
- Elicit and analyze requirements and assess solutions options from a system perspective
- Support solution design and contribute expertise and detailed knowledge to ensure high level design decisions are able to be delivered
- Ensure requirements are mapped and documented to functional and technical specifications for software development projects.
- Contribute expertise in supporting the development of technical specification
- Task and workflow analysis for major and minor projects
- Identify and document constraints, assumptions and risks associated with business requirements
- Document gaps in projects whilst providing potential solutions
- Contribute to the preparation of business cases
- Contribute or participate in application development if required
- Maintain timely communications to business stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure common understanding of requirements and impact to business area
- Provide incident supports for in-production systems and manage end user expectations.
- Participate in quality assurance and testing of solution components to ensure the implementation meets requirements and complies with all relevant Cathay Pacific standards
- Contribute and follow standards and frameworks for development
- Collaborate with other IT domains to drive innovation
- Keep abreast of latest trends in technology, industry and corresponding business domain’s strategy, business plans
- Degree qualifications in Information Technology, Business or related area
- Possess minimum 4 years of related IT experience
- Proven experience in applying Software Engineering best practices and techniques such as structured analysis, use cases and formal estimation. Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally and in written formats to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
- Strong experience in Java and Python, along with knowledge of Node.js and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud will be a plus
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics with internal and external stakeholders
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
- Focus on the end user’s or customer’s needs.
- Solid experience in systems analysis and software development.
- Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skill
- Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of stakeholders
