Accounting Manager - Aircraft Financing
Based in BUD - Office

Purpose of the position:
The Accounting Manager joins a team that manages the Wizz Air Group’s external and internal financial reporting. This position plays a pivotal role in the accounting processes related to aircraft leases, the most significant financing arrangements of the Group. Acting as a subject matter expert, managing internal and external stakeholders, liaising with the auditors and outsourced accounting service providers, taking part in cross-functional projects, developing systems to tackle complex accounting matters are all part of the role.

The position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements, statutory financial statements and management reporting according to company policies and IFRS.
• Contribute significantly to the monthly financial close process
• Participate in the development/establishment of accounting policies, procedures
• Focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
• Take part in or lead projects that improve the performance of accounting operations (efficiency, quality and timeliness), including further digitization of our processes.
• Assist with the compilation of information for the preparation of tax returns.
• Support external and internal audits
• Cooperate with, and in your areas control the work of, the outsourced accounting services provider of the Group.

Requirements:

• Finalized university or college degree in economics, majoring in finance or accounting
• Firm understanding of key accounting concepts, particularly IFRS
• 5+ years’ work experience in a similar area, preferably at a multinational company
• Good Excel knowledge
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to take ownership and work independently on complex matters
• Fluent English
• IFRS 16 related knowledge is an advantage
• International accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc) is an advantage
• Experience in the use of ERP systems is an advantage
